Cut Them Some Slack--Apostle Thapelo Jonas

I have been meditating lately on the subject of parenthood, but more specifically spiritual parenthood. We have never, in the history of the church, experienced rebellion and disloyalty like we see today with 'sons' and 'daughters' in the house of God. I am talking about those folks who are so comfortable in bad-mouthing their spiritual dads...

And something popped in my spirit so strong that i felt, i should share it with young pastors like me, with the hope of saving them some tears when a situation like that occur...but before i start with this...Allow me to lay the following spiritual principles and laws...

1. There is no spiritual substitute to parenting---you cannot fast or pray yourself to raising your children. It is either you are there to do it with the help of God or you are not.

2. Parenting is a perpetual exercise---in fact, even when you are on leave at work but you can never take leave from parenting.

3. When you know better, you do better. And when you don't know better, you cannot do better.

Now having said that...I have come to realise that we tend to forget the application of these principles in our spiritual eco-system. And as a result we want to blame spiritual enemies for the absence of foundations we should have laid...

Young Pastor, when your sons display rebellion and disloyalty, do two things; 1. CUT THEM SOME SLACK...MOST OF THEM GREW UP WITHOUT A FATHER. SO THEY MIGHT NOT KNOW WHAT SUBMITTING UNDER AUTHORITY MEANS...

2. TELL THEM...THEY MIGHT NOT EVEN BE AWARE OF IT BUT IF THEY STILL INSIST, LET THEM GO...

And to rebellious sons, let me enlighten you on this...YOU CAN NEVER BE GOOD IN AUTHORITY IF YOU HAVE NOT BEEN GOOD UNDER AUTHORITY...

WHEN WE TELL YOU THAT YOUR CHURCH WILL NOT GROW, WE ARE SIMPLY TRYING TO SAY THAT 'EVERYTHING PRODUCES AFTER ITS KIND'

God Will Turn Your 'Full Stops' Into 'Commas'

In this first issue of 2011, i want to speak to you today on the impact of 'FULL STOPS' that people often put in our lives and how God turns them into 'COMMAS'.

In the book of Genesis 37:33 [KJV], we read these words, "And he knew it, and said, It is my son's coat; an evil beast hath devoured him; Joseph is without doubt rent in pieces. "

You see, this is an account of what happened after Joseph's brothers sold him to the merchants of the Ishmaelites.

They brought an incorrect report to Jacob, their father and said, "Joseph, your son is dead." In other words, Joseph's brothers killed Joseph in the mind of his father while he was alive.

It's not only Joseph that people brought an incorrect report about; as we begin this year, some of you, society has written off. People have declared that you are a failure in life and that you will amount to nothing. They have spoken about you and declared that you can never and will never make it in life, business, career and academics.

They have killed you while you are alive...That's what Joseph's brothers did. They killed Joseph in the mind of his father while he was alive.

They brought this report; Joseph is dead. They put a 'FULL STOP' after that statement.

But I want you to see what God does in Genesis 45:26 [KJV], "And told him, saying, Joseph is yet alive, and he is governor over all the land of Egypt. And Jacob's heart fainted, for he believed them not."

Halleluya!!!

Destiny Partner, when God was done with Joseph and his destiny had been reached, his brothers had to go back to the mind in which they killed him TO GO AND RESURRECT HIM FROM THE DEAD...

But watch what they say when they come to Jacob, "JOSEPH IS YET ALIVE, AND HE IS GOVERNOR OVER ALL THE LAND OF EGYPT."

The full stop that they had put in the statement 'Joseph is dead' had to replaced with a comma. And that comma made a difference in the statement, "Joseph is yet alive COMMA and he is governor in all the land of Egypt."

Isn't that EXCITING?

God kept all of Joseph's brothers alive. You know why? so that they can go back to the mind in which they killed him to go and resurrect him and also declare good news.

I want you to know this; it does not matter what people have declare over your life and how bad of a report they brought to their friends about you but honey, i have news for you, when God is done with you, your enemies will have no choice but to replace the full stops they made about you with commas that are followed by your GOOD NEWS...

God is not done with you yet...2011 is your year.

Living Without God Is The Worst Suicide Mission....

Good Day Destiny Partner...

I trust that you are great this beautiful and sunny monday afternoon. I want to thank you again for allowing me an opportunity to invade your cyberspace, three days a week now. You are a blessing to me and I love you....

In today's article, I want us to discuss the importance of connecting with God. Many times we tend to think, "It's ok with me...Jesus is the Lord and Saviour of my life."

But however commendable that decision can be, it is also important to understand that; our destiny in God is perpetual, and therefore, we need Him everyday if we are to know the next steps that we should take in order to accomplish that which we were born to do.

In 2 Chronicles 26:5 [KJV],"And he sought God in the days of Zechariah, who had understanding in the visions of God: and as long as he sought the LORD, God made him to prosper."

Destiny Partner, allow me to share with you some profound revelation in seeking God. You see, God has made everything on earth to function in a specific environment. The fish was made to function in water. The trees were made to function in a specific soil. Earth was made as a boundary within which we should function as people...

I have spoken alot about the book of Genesis in this platform. When we study the book of Genesis, we realise that God put Adam in the garden of Eden to till it.In other words, tilling the ground was Adam's function in the garden of Eden.

But in order for Adam to carry out his primary function or responsibilities in the garden, it was imperative that he maintains constant and consistent communication and connection with God, so that he know his next move.

Can I tell you a revelation...Adam had spent so much time with God that God's spirit had contaminated him. Yes...the spirit of a man is contagious.

Perhaps that is why when you spent time with people of certain personality, you end up speaking and doing things like them....

Now, when God gave Adam the responsibility to name the animals...WHAT ADAM WAS GOING TO NAME THE ANIMALS WAS NOT GOING TO COME AS A SHOCK TO GOD, BECAUSE HE(ADAM) HAD SPENT SUFFICIENT TIME WITH GOD FOR GOD TO KNOW, THAT WHAT HE WAS GOING TO NAME THEM....WOULD MOST DEFINITELY BE WHAT GOD WOULD NAME THEM HIMSELF. WOW!!!

DP, You cannot fully realise the destiny that God has for your life while you still praying 5 minute prayers. I am sorry to offend you but in order for heaven to fully influence earth with heavenly influences and vision, earthly being should spend time understanding how heaven operates....we need to spend time with heaven to absorb these influences. And these influences will ensure that our world never remains the same. THAT IS A PRINCIPLE.

If you take a student in south africa, and allow them to spend time in Harvard University, America...say for 5 years.When you take that person back to south africa after 5 years, chances are; their influences and the impact at the workplace will most definitely be american influenced.

In other words, that workplace will have an opportunity to experience the American influences....

You cannot carry out your life assignment if you don't know what your next move should be. But your next move is in God and His presence is where we should dwell not visit...but dwell in.

I want to encourage you Destiny Partner this afternoon; your destiny is in God. Your next career move is in God. Your next business is in God. Your right career choice is in God not your friends. But you need to spend time in the presence of the one who made that Destiny. The presence of the Lord must be your best friend.

It must be in His presence were strategies to tackle issues that have defeated minds are found. It is in His presence were your failures are transformed into your story...

As long as Uzziah sought the Lord, the Lord made him to prosper...

What They Never Told You About The ANOINTING....

Good afternoon DP...

I am soo grateful that God has granted me an opportunity to write this article to you once more...And i believe that after you read it, your life will never be the same again...

I was in Cape Town this past weekend, and m-a-n..did i have fun!!! I was invited to the annual conference hosted by Saldalha Christian Fellowship. And I saw God move in a tremendous way...

In the opening service on friday, my best friend and brother, Pastor B, shared on the most profound subject..."connecting with the Supplier, not only the supply." It was really a powerful message.

And we embarked on a community outreach to impoverished societies around Saldalha Bay...and i was really moved. Some of the dire circumstances that people live under are really horrendous...however, we spend the whole day telling them about the love of Christ and bring the word of encouragement to destitude families...

And the same saturday evening, we had Prophet Spofana sharing on the message of deliverance....it was really eye-enticing to see many people being delivered from demonic possessions...

AND YESTERDAY....SUNDAY MORNING...YOURS TRULY BLESSED THE PODIUM WITH THE BEST MESSAGE I HAVE EVER SPOKEN ON, THIS YEAR, "WHAT THEY NEVER TOLD YOU ABOUT THE ANOINTING"

You see Destiny Partner, the anointing is the divine enablement to help you accomplish the assignment for which your birth was authorised.

If you read 1 Samuel 16 from verse 11, an interesting account is told about a young man called David. After he was anointed by Samuel, we read in verse 14, "Now the Spirit of the LORD had departed from Saul, and an evil[a] spirit from the LORD tormented him. "

You see Destiny Partner, David's assignment was to be a king of Israel and God had to propel him to the palace somehow...I have spoken about the power of experiences many times in this platform.

Therefore, the situation of Saul was just an opportunity for God to elevate David to the palace...

It is there where we learn the first principle of the anointing....

#01. The anointing will always create opportunities for your promotion

It was in that situation where a man of David's caliber was needed. The bible tells us that Saul wanted a skillful player of a harp and the man in whom the spirit of God is upon....And David fit that description.

I will speak the whole week about these principles of the anointing but today, it is important to know; the anointing will always create opportunities for your promotion...

You are born with innate resources to accomplish that which you were born to do. Your destiny is within your reach. However, you need to be divinely enabled to accomplish your life assignment. And many times we don't understand or we underestimate the power of the anointing upon our lives...

In 1 John 2: 27 [NIV], "As for you, the anointing you received from him remains in you, and you do not need anyone to teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about all things and as that anointing is real, not counterfeit—just as it has taught you, remain in him. "

You are anointed but that anointing was for your assignment in life. It is important to understand and confess that you are anointed, because when you do then you begin to activate the power thereof...

You will see the anointing creating opportunities for you in business, in your career and in your studies. Our destiny is perpetual and you need the anointing to continue to the different levels of your destiny.

The anointing put David in the palace...it can also put you in the next dimension of your life....

Gehazi View Versus Elisha's View

Destiny Partner...

I trust that you had a great weekend....

Please allow me today to share with you the contrast between two powerful views that i have learned in the word of God, Gehazi and Elisha's view...And the basis of my article today is found in 2 Kings 6: 15 - 17...

"When the servant of the man of God got up and went out early the next morning, an army with horses and chariots had surrounded the city. “Oh no, my lord! What shall we do?” the servant asked. 16 “Don’t be afraid,” the prophet answered. “Those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” 17 And Elisha prayed, “Open his eyes, LORD, so that he may see.” Then the LORD opened the servant’s eyes, and he looked and saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha. "

2 KINGS 6:15-17 [NIV]

When the king of Assyria learned that Elisha, the prophet of God leaked his battle strategies with the king of Israel, he wanted to annihilate or destroy him.

As a result, he send out an army with horses and chariots to go and destroy this one man...Elisha. Isn't that amazing that a king would send out an army with horses and chariots to go and annihilate one man, one man?

In the above passage of scripture, we learn that Gehazi, Elisha's servant woke up in the morning, and saw that the entire city was surrounded with horses and chariots---their enemies. In other words, he saw that they were ambushed.

And the result? He was greatly terrifiend and dismayed...

His exact words of terror to Elisha were, "Oh no, my lord! What shall we do?

I love Elisha's reply..."Those who are with us are more than those who are with them."

This reply tells us that Elisha saw something totally different to what Gehazi saw...

And instead of him praying for the deliverance for the predicament that they find themselves in...Elisha prays that Gehazi's eyes may be opened...WOW!

WAIT...These two people looked at the same situation but their response was totally different...When Gehazi saw death, Elisha saw the platform for God to show himself as God...

Destiny Partner...I don't know what you are going through right now. You might be in the valley of a decision about something that you perceive as bad in your life. You might have done the worst sin ever but i have news for you....when you see death, i choose to see the perfect plan of God taking its place in your life....

Pastor At (My Priest) has being teaching on destiny alot these days and many times when the devil tries to steal my joy over a 'fatal' mistake i have done, i remind him that, "all things work together for good of those who love the Lord...."

When you see death and failure, ask yourself, What would Elisha see in this situation?

His FAVOURS Are Profusely Abounding In Your Life...

Destiny Partners...

Good Afternoon DP...what a lovely wednesday afternoon. I never get less excited about writing this articles. You, Destiny Partner are my daily inspiration. And for that, i thank you.

I want us to continue on the subject we spoke about on monday. We spoke on the subject; "You Don't Need money When You Have The Blessing"

I received so much feedback about that article...some even gone to extremes of calling me 'selfish'...that is; i withheld so much information that i was supposed to have shared.

And well...let's go lil'deeper then...

In today's main article, I want to show you how blessed you are to have a father like our God...

In Psalms 5:12 [NIV], "Surely, LORD, you bless the righteous; you surround them with your favor as with a shield."

That's powerful.

Let me explain that scripture using this simple analogy...

Firstly, we know that the purpose of every product lies with its manufacturer. In other words, if i wanted to find out what else my LG Microwave could do, the best place to start would be; the manual provided by the manufacturer.

In the provision of a manual, the manufacturer was trying to provide me with a written document that spells out the purpose of the product that they made.

As a matter of fact, every product comes with a manual...

People are not exceptional.

The bible says in Acts 17:29 that, WE ARE GOD'S OFFSPRING. That means we sprang off God.Now...in our manufacturer and product scenario, who is the manufacturer? and who is the product? You are right. God is our maker And We are the result of his work....Product.

Therefore, if you wanted to find out THE POTENTIAL of a product called YOU, which option would you exhaust first to find out? you are right again...THE BIBLE.

In other words, YOUR POTENTIAL WILL REMAIN A POTENTIAL UNTIL YOU KNOW ALL THAT YOU ACHIEVE...WOW!

And if you don't spend time with the manual...who can you blame for lack of achievement IN YOUR LIFE....? YOU. WHY? BECAUSE YOU HAVE NOT SPEND TIME STUDYING THE MANUAL THAT SPELLS OUT THE PURPOSE OF THE PRODUCT CALLED YOU...

NOW...BACK TO THE FOUNDING SCRIPTURE....

YOU LORD...SHALL SURELY BLESS THE RIGHTEOUS AND WITH FAVOUR SHALL THY ENCIRCLE THEM LIKE A SHIELD....

YOU MIGHT NOT KNOW IT YET....but there is a shield of favour around your life and it is the knowledge of that favour that separates you from those that have it and DON'T KNOW IT.

It is favour that brings promotion. It is favour that attracts right people in your life. It is favour that ensures that you marry the right woman/man. It is favour that makes your a rainmaker in your career. It is favour that soars revenues in your business. It is favour that makes you to be invited in academic honour societies. IT IS FAVOUR.

But the truth is; THE FAVOURS OF GOD ARE PROFUSELY ABOUNDING IN YOUR LIFE.

IF THE MANUAL SAYS THAT MY LG MICROWAVE CAN ALSO GRILL THE MEAT...DO I DOUBT THAT IT WILL GRILL WHEN I PRESS THE GRILL OPTION? NO I HAVE FAITH IN THE PRODUCT BECAUSE THE MANUAL SAYS SO...

BELIEVE TODAY'S WORD...AND CONFESS IT UNTIL YOU BELIEVE IT, "I AM ENCIRCLED WITH FAVOUR LIKE A SHIELD..." OVER AND OVER AGAIN....

God Brags About Your Daily Achievements

Destiny Partner

Good morning Destiny Partner. It is a beautiful morning indeed. I want you to remember as we start this day, that this is the day that the Lord has made, we must rejoice and be glad in it.

I have chosen to send you this article earlier today because i believe that it will change how your entire day spans out. We often forget that we are children of a proud father, our heavenly father.

And i always say, if you want to understand the nature of our divine father, it is important to spend time trying to understand how natural fathers behave. If you are not a parent yet, this article is P rated(i just had to.)

You probably have, in one stage of your life listened to a proud father or mother. They love to exaggerate the activities in their children's lives. When the child start crawling, they say, "Andrew.....has started walking!!!!!" And when their child is a bit older, the poor neighbours don't hear the last of, "thabo is a doctor now..." and at that time, the poor thabo is just doing his first year in medicine. Parents!!! funny creatures. (i understand...i am a father.lol)

When their children graduate in varsity, they want to throw the biggest graduation party ever. And mostly because they want the whole village to know their child is educated.

But however exaggerative parents can be, i believe we can learn alot about God in our natural parents.

In the book of Genesis 39, when Joseph fleed from Potiphar's house, i believe, it's not written in the bible that God called all the angels in his chamber, looked from above and said, "DID YOU SEE WHAT JOSEPH DID?" "HE IS MY SON...JOSEPH" our God brags about our daily achievements...

When you are in varsity and you get a distinction in a subject, i wish you could see what happens in heaven...God tells angels that you are already an engineer even though you have not even finished. When we excel in everything that we do, our God brags about our every achievement...

In business, we we clinche that deal, God says to the angels, "Did you see that...That's my son...a business mogul"

When we deal calmly with a situation that has everyone stressed. When we demonstrate integrity when no one sees us. I wish God can show you what happens in heaven; He calls all the angels and say come see, "that's my son" and "that's my daughter"

God wants you to effect heavenly change in your industry, business and in varsity. You should be exceptional in everything you do. Stop getting average marks in varsity. It disappoints God. He can't brag about you in heaven.
